Why was the Autism SIG formed?

The Association for Behavior Analysis is a professional international organization for members interested in the philosophy, science, application, and teaching of behavior analysis.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are a critical component of ABA InternationalTM and provide additional services and support to members with specialized interests. SIGs are initiated by members to provide a forum for information exchange and a vehicle to promote a particular area of interest.

The Autism SIG was formed with the interest in the application of behavior analysis to the education and treatment of autism across the lifespan.

How can I join the Autism SIG?

Please follow the directions provided on the "Joining  the SIG Link  on the left side of this site. Specify whether you are already a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis, and if you are a parent, professional, or both. As a member, you will receive emails from time to time about issues of relevance to this SIG.

Is there a fee to join the Autism SIG?

Who staffs the Autism SIG?

The SIG leadership is made up of an entirely volunteer committee of professionals and parents, therefore, SIG activities need to be carefully prioritized given the absence of any paid staff.  We welcome volunteers who are interested in contributing to the SIG by volunteering to assist in SIG  activities.

Can the Autism SIG use any volunteers?

Absolutely. We welcome ABAI members who wish to assist the SIG.The SIG can benefit from the support and assistance of its membership. More specifically, we can use help with the following three tasks: 1) developing content for our website; 2) local publicity for upcoming conferences; and 3) disseminating information about the www.autism.org site.
